An Indian prince for Britain?
London: Prince William, second-in-line to the throne, will be first British king with proven Indian ancestry, DNA analysis has revealed.

The DNA analysis of saliva samples taken from the Duke of Cambridge's relatives have established a direct lineage between the 30-year-old prince and an Indian housekeeper on his mother Princess Diana's side.

It is his only non-European DNA and means he will become the first Head of the Commonwealth with a clear genetic link to its most populous nation - India.

New Delhi: After senior BJP leader LK Advani quit all party posts Monday, JD-U chief Sharad Yadav described the development as a sad one which would adversely impact the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

"It is sad... not good for NDA's health," Yadav told news channel.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) are constituents of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), a coalition of parties that projected a united front in the last two general elections of 2004 and 2009.

Yadav is the convenor of the National Democratic Alliance.

An RCMP inspector, Amrik Virk of the ruling Liberal Party won in Surrey-Tinehead.

VANCOUVER: Amrik Virk, a former inspector with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) who was elected to the British Columbia assembly in the last month�s election, was appointed minister for advanced education by Premier Christy Clark on Friday.

Virk is one of the three Indo-Canadian MLAs in the 85-member assembly in British Columbia. But he is the only one from the ruling Liberal Party which returned to power in the May 14 elections.

Over 100 Naxals attack train in Bihar; three killed, driver injured
Patna: A group of over 100 Naxals, including some women, attacked a passenger train in Bihar this afternoon reportedly killing three people and injuring seven others.

According to the police, the rebels snatched weapons from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawans who were on board the Dhanbad-Patna Intercity Express as a standard security precaution.

Import lobbies threaten petroleum ministers: Moily

New Delhi: In a stunning comment, Oil Minister M Veerappa Moily Friday said petroleum ministers are "threatened" by import lobbies not to take decisions that will cut India's USD 160 billion oil imports.
