Muslims protest outside Chidambaram's residence
They slammed security forces for targeting Muslim youth on the presumption that they are militants.
A dozen activists, shouting anti- government slogans, sat outside Chidambaram's residence and demanded justice from him.
"We are protesting against the norm of treating young Muslims as militants and picking up Muslim children from their homes for being militants," Shabnam Hashmi, a protestor, said.
He added that sit- in protest was organised to convey the anguish of the Muslim community who had lost faith in the Congress led government.
"We are here to convey the anguish and the insecurity of the entire Muslim community. We have lost all hope from the Centrall government and the Home Minister. We have not placed any demand in our memorandum as we have lost faith in the government," Hashmi said. (ANI)
