Panthers' Party announces support to Shri P.A. Sangma

New Delhi, 5th July, 2012

While addressing a crowded press conference in Chelmsford Club, New Delhi in the presence of Shri P.A. Sangma, Prof. Bhim Singh announced that JKNPP shall support Shri Sangama in the Presidential election, assuring Shri Sangma that he enjoys full support from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Shillong to Dwarka. Answering several questions the NPP Chief accused Mr. Ambani for hijacking the candidature of Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
Expressing gratitude to the Panthers Party, Shri Sangma told media that he was grateful to the Panthers Party MLAs and to its Chairman for expressing their support to his candidature. He said that he was proud of his friendship with Prof. Bhim Singh for the past 30 years and it was great occasion that they have joined hands together again to ensure harmonious development and policy vis-a-vis Jammu and Kashmir and the North-East also. Prof. Bhim Singh also issued the following statement to the press added,

"I would like to appeal to all the Hon’ble Legislators who are members of the Electoral College to elect the next President of India by the exercise of their conscious vote as there is no mandatory party whip permitted in the Presidential poll. J&K National Panthers Party has taken a conscious decision to support Shri P.A. Sangma in the Presidential election to uphold the voice of the voiceless hundreds of millions of the citizens of this country with strong resolve to strengthen the bonds of National Integration from Shillong to Dwarka and Kashmir to Kanyakumari." Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party made this statement in a media conference this day in New Delhi in the presence of Hon’ble Mr. P.A. Sangma. The State President of J&K National Panthers Party, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA (Udhampur) was also present in the press conference.

Prof. Bhim Singh regretted that the Congress has not been able to work out a genuine policy vis-à -vis J&K, North-East and other neglected regions in the country for their harmonious development and growth. There is a universal call for parivartan (change) and ‘P’ means Parivartan.

The Panthers Party Chief said, "The victory of P.A. Sangma in the Presidential poll shall open new windows of confidence, understanding, development, communication between the East and the West, the South and the North of the country which is essential for India so that India may play its destined role to promote peace and international understanding the world over with its message of complete disarmament, mutual co-existence of nations and respect for human dignity in every corner of the world."
