KARUNYA UNIVERSITY CONVOCATION TO BE HELD ON 4TH AUGUST




Karunya University will conduct its seventh convocation at 2 pm. on 4th August 2012 at the new Auditorium in the University campus. The Chief Guest Hon’ble Prof.K.V.Thomas, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Govt. of India will deliver the convocation address. Dr.Paul Dhinakaran, Chancellor, Karunya University will preside over the convocation and distribute the certificates to the graduates.

1999 students (UG – 1214, PG-768, M.Phil-6, Ph.D.-11) who have successfully completed B.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Sc. and M.Tech will be awarded with the degrees. 375 Gold coins will be presented to the toppers. This is the seventh batch of students graduating after Karunya attained Deemed to be University status.

On this occasion, Karunya University will be honouring Hon’ble Dr.Ruben Berrocal, Minister for Science and Technology, Republic of Panama with an Honorary Degree of D.Sc. and Hon’ble Fazal Karim, Minister of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education, Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies will be conferred the Honorary Doctor of Letters.

The graduating students of our University along with SEESHA have volunteered to donate Motorized Tri-cycles, Tri-cycles, Wheel Chairs, School kits, etc immediately after obtaining their degrees to the specially abled people. This noble gesture is in tune with the objectives of Karunya University and its Chancellor Dr.Paul Dhinakaran, which caters to find solutions to human problems in areas relating to Water, Food, Health Care and Energy through scientific, social and technological research.

Dr.C.Joseph Kennady, Registrar and Dr.A.Hepzibah Christinal, Controller of Examinations are making all arrangements to conduct the programme.
